We are delighted to announce the opening of an exhibition of new and recent work by multidisciplinary artist Claire Morgan on Saturday 7 November.

Claire Morgan’s practice questions ideas of fixed identity, division, and human exceptionalism. Intertwined is a recurring concern with mortality, grief and kinship, and an on-going curiosity about the nature of these experiences. In response, Morgan’s oeuvre, encompassing sculpture, installation, drawing and painting, frequently brings seemingly opposing states into proximity, blurring the thresholds between forms of being, and life and death.

Open Studio at Dora House with the Royal Society of Sculptors

To mark her fortnight as the first artist in residence at Dora House, London, Claire Morgan invites you to visit her during this open studio event.
It’s a chance to discover and discuss some of the research and ideas generated during the residency.
In addition to the research in progress, Claire will present a small selection of recent works.

Gag

Limited Edition Multiple launched 14/06/26

Gag is a readymade of sorts: a handkerchief draped over a chandelier part. Hanging in mid air, it references the silhouette of a bedsheet ghost – a literal and figurative suspension of lingering mortality, and the physical and emotional seepage we struggle to hide. It is an exploration of intimacy, domesticity, and the absurdity of grief.

Residency at Stiftung Bartels Foundation, Basel

During the 3-month residency, Claire will be based at the Foundation’s historic house at Münsterplatz. The residency will culminate with an intimate presentation of new work to coincide with Art Basel in Basel.
